Minerals Makeup: Give Your Face A Treat!

by Tom Garimentis

As a licensed cosmetologist, my wife spends a good deal of time tracking the latest trends in the beauty industry. She frequents the beauty store and must attend ongoing training in her field. When I recently came across an article on mineral makeup, and I thought I’d spotted something first. Assuming a negative response, I asked her if she’d ever heard of it.

Instead she began telling me more information than I can remember all about mineral cosmetics. As it turns out, this is one of the hottest sellers at the beauty supply store — they can’t seem to keep enough on the shelves.

This growing trend seems in line with the organic and wellness stores and product. But why is mineral makeup becoming so popular? I can make out two distinct reason for this love.

Firstly, it keep them from having to gunk up their faces with traditional makeup. Most cosmetics are manufactured synthetically and are thus composed of unnatural chemicals. These compounds are often harmful to your complexion. It then becomes an endless cycle: women must wear an increasing amount of makeup to cover up the blemishes caused by the previous application.

Secondly, mineral makeup actually looks better. Now it is hard to prove this scientifically, but my wife — along with countless other women — swear that a woman’s complexion resembles that of airbrushed model when wearing mineral makeup. Yes, these minerals are much healthier for the skin. But the real draw is the brilliant beauty that results from these natural substances.

Many companies have begun manufacturing mineral cosmetics. These cosmetics are priced a bit higher than standard makeup. An increasing number of women are happy to pay the difference for this premium product.

Tom Garimentis is active in the health and nutrition arena. He recommends NakedMinerals cosmetics. This company has produced superior Naked Minerals natural cosmetics and offers a wide variety of mineral makeup.

Makeup For Acne Scars! Where Effective Cosmetic Products Camouflage Scars, Not Your Life

by William Lezubski

Are you dropping out of society due to experiencing scars after acne breakouts? Are you searching for quality makeup for acne scars to help you blend your skin imperfections, and to also eliminate any future blemishes?

If your answer is yes to the questions above, then let me help you find the best cosmetic scar treatments that will allow you to get back out into the world, and enjoy your life the way you deserve to!

Nowadays, there are many advanced makeup products such as camouflage makeup specially designed for scars, and are widely offered by professional online skincare suppliers. These special skin products help you positively conceal such physical imperfections, such as scars, hyper pigmentation, rosacea, burns, and dark freckles to name a few.

If you happen to suffer from any of these conditions listed above, you’re not alone, and this is why quality acne cosmetics and scar treatments have been designed specially for you to help you in your current condition.

Now You Can Get The Scar Coverage You Need, Custom Made For You!

With treatment makeup, many of these uniquely designed scar products give you a large array of colors to choose from, helping match your skin tone perfectly, thus offering you that custom looking facial skin color blend. You pick 2-3 shades, and unify these colors together for that natural cosmetics look, and quality finishing touch!

The specially created Camouflage makeup products are made with mineral pigments that are fragrance and oil free, so it does not irritate your skin. The best thing is that the finish looks flawless, and your complexion will have virtually no signs of visible acne scars.

Don’t ever think that you’re the only one that has facial scars in this world! You would be surprised and amazed on how many of your favorite celebrities, and athletes have the same scar condition as you. This is the main reason why top quality scar cosmetics have been created, and when you’re under the camera and public microscope, these stars don’t want to take any chances of exposing their skin condition to their fans.

With that in mind, you can now take advantage of these quality skincare makeup products as well, and you don’t have to settle for the over-the-counter generic items that give you that caked on look, and do not properly blend away your scars. In most cases these retail products end up enhancing the look of your scar, rather than blending them.

You may notice that the prices on these products are a little higher than your retail store generic makeup products, but when you actually try them, you will understand why, and also realize that these uniquely designed scar care makeup items easily available to you online, are created for you in mind, and will eventually allow you to get your life back, by feeling comfortable in the public eye again!

How To Choose The Right Perfume

by The Team

How to choose the right perfume is a short article to help you with the sometimes difficult task of picking that perfect scent.

Because we have customers email and call us here at PerfumStop frequently to ask this question, we thought it would make sense (no pun intended) to offer the following guide.

There are lots of things to consider when you are choosing a new perfume. Certain key ingredients are said to release certain feelings in people when they smell them.
Spicier fragrances like musk are said to arouse sexual feelings and vanilla is also believed to be an aphrodisiac by many people worldwide. Fruit and floral scents are seen as calming, fresh and sensual.

How to test a perfume.

It has also been advised that when you test a variety of scents, you should think how you would describe it to yourself, and remember that is the message you would give out to people; ’sweet’, ‘fresh’, ’sexy/sensual’ etc.

Perfume scents and skin types.

Never assume that because a perfume smells good on your friend it will smell exactly the same on you. Everybody’s skin reacts differently.
Always spray the perfume onto your skin rather than just sniffing the bottle, as again it changes when it meets your skin. Leave it to develop for about 10 minutes to get a proper idea of how it will smell.

How to apply perfume.

Try not to test more than 3-4 fragrances at once, because your sense of smell will become confused and they will blend together. Apply one to each wrist at the pulse and one in the crook of your elbow.
Fresh, floral and fruity fragrances are often more appropriate in the summer, whereas spicier and warmer scents are more suited to the colder months.
Perfume is best applied to pulse points: the inner wrists, behind the ears, and lower neck. If you spray a bit on your hair from arm’s length, the scent will float into the air everytime you move your head.

Perfume your linen.

Another way of making your mark with your perfume is to lightly spray it on your mattress as you make the bed - the fragrance will subtly remain on the sheets. Reapply your perfume throughout the day as the smell will fade after 4-6 hours.

To tell weather a perfume suits your not!!

This is very true, once you apply a perfume, after about half an hour… if you can’t smell you have it on, but other people can… this means it suits you!

Hair Color Trends - The New You

by Rebecca Prescott

Current hair color trends are defined within the move towards relaxed glamour. Healthy, shiny hair, with lots of movement, yet still well groomed. Color is defined - it’s either pastel blondes, in clean, icy tones. Or cool browns, or brilliant reds. The move has definitely been away from red browns, although if that’s a personal choice, or suits your skin tone best, don’t be a slave to fashion!

Here are some ideas to incorporate the latest hair color trends into your style:

Double sided coloring - underneath, choose a darker color like chocolate, and over the top, and for most of the hair, choose lighter shades like copper and bronze. The darker color will frame your face, and if you go for any flicks or curls when styling, you’ll see it contrasted against the lighter colors. But the main colors when hair is straightened will be the lighter ones. It’s great for variety.

Try color combinations like coffee, honeycomb and golden syrup for a more subtle, layered effect.

For brunettes who like their chocolate browns, try a few golden highlights to break up the block of chocolate, unless your face and skin color can handle the density of such a rich dark color. It really helps define your hair style, and is much easier to wear.

If you like very dark colors, try a brown black instead of a straight black. Or get your hairdresser to mix in some blue black into the brown black to give it more intensity, but without the harshness of a solid black that is not flattering to all skin tones. Also, try mixing in some caramel and pink-red foils with a violet brown black base. If they’re used creatively, and with restraint, you can keep the overall look very dark and mysterious, with a few hints of color showing.

For blondes, try mixing golden blonde with a very light ash. Or for a more subtle but contrasting look, have the ends of a bob colored a pale pastel coral.

If you want to try platinum shades, instead of going for a harsher white white, try a softer platinum white tinted slightly with pink.

For a pretty natural blonde look, try splicing a few clove and light ash foils through a pale, golden base shade.

Redheads: Go for a rich, fiery copper with a darker brown underneath, like clove. This works well on long hair and mid length hair.

For another red combination, try cayenne, nutmeg and paprika.

For really vibrant colors mixed with a darker base, away from the coppers, try a pink red combination of cassis and raspberry coulis.

For something a little more outrageous and individual, go for a brightly colored fringe, say in pink, and a few purple ends.

If you want something quite striking, but not so colorful, just go for a lighter than usual highlight. As long as it’s tastefully done, it’ll look great. Don’t try this at home!!!

When choosing colors, be aware of whether it’s a warm shade or a cool shade. And keep in mind how much of each color is going to be on your hair. Which shade, or tone, do you want the dominant one to be? Do you want a subtle effect, or a more striking one? Unless the contrasting color is going to be in small amounts, keep warm tones together, and cool tones together, irrespective of whether they are blond, brown, black or red. For example, chocolate brown highlights look good with warm vanilla, even though the colors themselves are quite distinct.

You can use different tones together. But it depends on both your skin tone, the way the colors are applied, and how much of each are used. If you’re going for this approach, think of the contrasting tone as a painter would, and be judicious about it’s placing.

Formal Eye Makeup Tips To Live By

by Rachel Ann

Formal eye makeup tips will allow you to look glamorous no matter if you are heading out for the biggest night of your life or if you are just hanging out with friends. To look glamorous, you need to know just how to apply makeup correctly, to achieve the desired, finished look.Learning how to put on eye makeup doesn’t have to be a difficult process either. Here are several key steps to make your wedding or prom pictures truly amazing.

Pick A Look

Your first course of action is to pick a celebrity or look that you are after to mimic. Eye makeup ideas are hard to come up with on your own, but there are plenty of models out there for you to mimic. This is an eye makeup trick; mimic someone else’s look. How will you know who to select? Choose someone that has the same skin tone and hair color as you. Check out what makeup products they are using too.

Pick A Feature

A huge mistake that many people make when it comes to formal make up is that they try to make each of their facial features a focal point. Choose either your eyes or your lips and then apply makeup to enhance that features. The makeup you use in the other area should be more subtle. Select the area of your face that is where you get the most compliments.

No Foundation?

Another formal eye make up trick is to skip the foundation but to use a concealer for blemishes. How does this affect your eye makeup? First off, those that are young are likely to have beautiful, glowing skin with no need for heavy foundations. For your eye makeup, allowing your natural skin tones to come through will allow your eyes to be more set off from the rest of your face. Less makeup everywhere else helps your eyes to stand out.

For bridal makeup, consider more natural and soft tones. The white of a wedding dress makes your skin darker looking. Less is more here. For proms and a night out on the town, look to more drastic and deep color combinations in your eye makeup. Do this to create an alluring look with your eyes.

Formal eye makeup tips like these can be easy to apply any day or night that you are planning out. You can get amazing eye makeup ideas from celebrities by paging through the web or watching Red Carpet footage. The bottom line is to find an amazing look that allows only your eyes to stand out. Eye makeup techniques like these are easy to learn. Practice makes perfect! For a formal look, enhance your eyes.

Picking Makeup That’s Perfect For Your Wedding Pictures

by Amy Spade

When you’re smiling in the pictures, you feel like you’re taking a good shot, but can you be so sure? One of the ways that you can help your chances of looking your best is through your makeup decisions. But the wedding day is a completely different ballgame than going out for dinner.

Finding a good makeup artist

When you’re looking for someone to do your makeup for your wedding, you want to listen to your friends and family for referrals. If someone’s name keeps popping up, then you will want to schedule a consultation with them to see what they are like and what they can do for you.

Even if you’re not starting off with a list of people to turn to, you can go through the phone book and start calling to see who does bridal parties. If you have bridesmaids that you want to have makeup for as well, you may want to invite one of them along for help.

Have the makeup artist do your face in the way that you would want for your wedding day. Be specific about what you want and see how they respond. This should be free at first, so be sure to ask a lot of questions, find out the pricing and if she or he will go to the hotel or if everyone needs to go to the salon.

Here’s the key to finding out if the artist is any good for you: have your bridesmaid take a picture of your face in the outdoors and indoors. This will help you to see if you will look good in your pictures, or if you need to find someone else.

If you don’t normally wear makeup

It’s okay if you don’t wear makeup on an everyday basis. Most times, the artists will just make sure that you don’t have any visible blemishes or scars for your pictures as well as enhance your eyes and smile. You should tell the artist if you’re uncomfortable with anything that they’re doing; so that you find someone that will work with you, rather than just do what they think is best.

Even if you end up doing your own makeup, you should be putting your best face forward for your wedding pictures. If there’s a feature on your face that you particularly like, draw attention to that. You can read magazines for advice or have a bridesmaid paint your face and try new things on you.

Amy Spade is an expert on planning weddings, and she has written an amazing totally free minicourse on how to make sure that you have the day of your dreams and avoid wedding day disaster!

Makeup Tips To Conceal Acne

by Ron King

While acne medication may promise results in just 7 days, you need to put your best face forward TODAY. Fortunately, you don’t have to wear a bag over your head. Instead just a few good acne concealing makeup tips will help you look your best wherever you need to go.

Remember — makeup only conceals acne, it doesn’t cure it. While concealing acne with makeup isn’t difficult, there are some definite procedures that you should always follow.

Your Basic Tool Kit

There are 3 acne-hiding makeup weapons — concealer, foundation and finishing powder. Be sure to use only brand names because you don’t want to trust your face to cut-rate products.

The key to success here is oil-free makeup, therefore read the labels carefully. You do NOT want to aggravate an existing acne problem by laying another coat of oil on skin that already has too much. Choose products that match your skin tone, and stick to those labeled hypoallergenic.

Before using any new product, it’s important to test the makeup by applying a small dab under your jaw to see if your skin reacts negatively. You’ll know in about an hour if there is a problem. You certainly don’t want to add more blotches to an already colorful face.

Before You Begin

Wash your face using a normal face cleansing product. Completely pat your face dry, apply your acne medication, and then let your face thoroughly air dry.

The Concealer

With a light dabbing motion, apply the concealer directly to any acne blotches on your skin. Blend in the concealer using a disposable sponge. Use the concealer sparingly — if applied too thickly, it will look terrible when it dries. You can always apply more later, if needed.

The Foundation

Use a light dabbing motion in applying the foundation. As with your concealer, use the foundation sparingly. With a sponge, blend the foundation and then reapply it if needed.

The Final Touch

Use a large makeup brush to apply a light layer of oil-free powder to take care of any shine that the acne concealer and foundation have left behind. It will also give your face an even and finished look.

Don’t forget to throw away those disposable sponges when you are through, so that you don’t transfer yesterday’s skin oil to tomorrow’s clean face!

Before You Go To Bed

It is best if you can remove your makeup as soon as you return home from school or work. You want your skin to breathe and your acne to get as much fresh air as possible.

Finally, before you go to bed wash your face thoroughly to remove every last trace of makeup. A thoroughly clean face will maximize the healing power of your sleep.
